  2. We would love it if you’d take a listen to Jay Woodward’s new album and consider featuring/reviewing his music on your site. Being an outlet for awesome indie music, we believe featuring this album would be a great tool, continuing the promotion of solid artists like Jay.

    A little bit about him:

With the music industry in an ever fluctuating spiral of uncertainty, Jay Woodward was able to make his first record, “Letters We Told”, with a sense of true creative flexibility. Recorded in his home studio, Sierra Nevada Records, Jay approached the making of this concept album as an art project, and a letter, having a written correspondence like flow to it.

Having spent half of his life in a suburb near the overcast city of Rochester, NY, then venturing to the lush rolling hills of West Virginia for college, and eventually making his way to the sandy beaches of California where he currently lives, the sense of a traveling spirit can be heard in most of his songs. A natural born observer, his lyrics are a culmination of self awareness and introspection in an observer’s body. His style of playing is multi faceted, using recording techniques he picked up during his tenure as a sound engineer at Capitol Studios in Hollywood. “Letters We Told” is a unique look at America through the eyes of one its sons.

  3. Hey Rob!

We, Cambridge-based (UK) band Shooting Suns have just self produced an EP and a music video for our title track ‘Overload’. We’re really trying to push out of the ‘student band’ scene (in which we’ve been very popular at Cambridge University) and explore the bigger, wider world of music and would love to hear what you think of what we’ve done so far. If you could write a review of our EP or even feature our video that would be fantastic! It’s only our debut EP and we’re working on a second, but it’s a start.

You can hear our EP here: https://soundcloud.com/shooting-suns/sets/overload-ep

and our new video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-IURCpLZIE

Can’t wait to hear what you think.

Best wishes, and thanks in advance,

  5. Hi there Rob,
I feel I may have some good music to offer you to listen to but I’ll not presume and let you be the judge of that. If you like what you hear we would greatly appreciate a mention on your fantastic blog as we’d love to get our music out there.
To start, I am Gerard from the band runabay and we’re relatively new to the music business. We are from County Antrim in N. Ireland.
Although we are categorised as indie/folk/pop we feel we’ve more than just one style and sound and have barely scratched the surface of our capabilities. I’d really love it if you could take a moment or two to put on headphones and give our debut e.p. a wee listen. Here is the video of our latest single release just before the e.p.

Our members are John McManus (vocals/guitar), Gary Graham (guitar/vocals) Gerard McHugh (vocals/percussion) Dean Walker (bass/vocals), Declan McCartan (cello/vocals) and George Sloan (drums/vocals). Drawing musical influences from Irish traditional folk music and indie bands like Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Hozier plus all the greats from every genre.

As we’re new to this as its our debut E.P. but we’re really excited about the music and can’t wait for people to hear it, we’ve been together since the beginning of 2014 and this has been the culmination of 18 months hard work. I’d love you to take a moment and listen to each of the tracks, if you have the time although, I know you’ll be pretty busy. I now know (from internet research) that this was supposed to be with you weeks ago, for that all I can do is apologise. The links to our music are on soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/runabayband/sets/the-june-e-p-mp3 which you can stream or download also on Spotify and iTunes. It would be fantastic if you liked what you hear you were able to feature us.
