It’s not very often that I can say I’m completely content with the contents of my iTunes. But recently, I feel like my iPod has got all of the right music on it to suit my every need…

It’s obvious that I’ve become obsessed with a constant need to find new music. And I’m not going to lie, I love knowing about a band before you do.
Now I don’t mean that in a nasty way. I think it’s got more to do with the idea that I could potentially introduce you to your new favourite musician via a conversation, the sharing of a link or quite simply a writing a blog post.
However, recently I’ve changed the way I have been discovering music. I’ve kind of taken a back seat. And for a change, I’ve let other people influence my decisions. Friends have suggested songs, writers have written words of influence, and music has appeared on my telly that has provoked me to take note. I’ve even let iTunes guide my options, largely whilst using my phone.
So where am I up to with all of this new music? We’ll, why don’t I show you…
Let’s start with a bit of Hip-hop:
Now we’ll sample something with a little bit of Soul:
I’ve got a fair amount of Rock/Alternative stuff on there too:
Plus there’s some of this:
There’s also loads of other cracking music in my pocket including Mutual Benefit, Plague Vendor, RATKING, Sylvan Esso, Say Hi, Honeyblood, Into It. Over It. and Dean Wareham, just to name a few.
