The Great Escape in Brighton is one of the UK’s best music festivals offering over 300 bands, in 30 venues, spread across three days. Since being founded in 2006 TGE has become one of the leading events to showcase new music from around the world.
The 2011 line-up consisted of The Vaccines, Example, Katy B and Friendly Fires, but it was the smaller artists that would impress festivalgoers. The Xcerts wild pub performance, Josh T. Pearson’s haunting folk music and a secret Guillemots gig were among some of the highlights.
Australian pop outfit The Jezabels played a staggering four sets over the course of the weekend and enthralled the crowds. Whilst white-boy rapper Buck 65 wowed the audience with his brilliant songs about the zombie apocalypse.
Truly it is the GREAT escape.
