Tokyo Police Club @ The Hippodrome, Kingston 11th November 2010

Canada’s finest are back with a new album and a headline tour, so what better way to show off their talent than this cheap-as-chips gig (£5).

Perfect guitar riffs played over the driving bass lines from front man Dave Monks, are mixed wonderfully with haunting vocals, slick synths and toe tapping drum beats. ‘Tessellate’ brings together both band and crowd with the clap-clap sections, whilst ‘Bambiwhips the audience into a frenzy of dancing. The eerie low vocals of ‘Hands Reversed’ presents the band in an altogether different light, showing you that they are certainly one to watch for the future.
