From the Graveyard of the Arousal Industry is the first book released by punk icon Justin Pearson and came out in America towards the end of May. It took me a good month or two to find a stockist that would deliver to the UK but I can safely say that it was worth the wait. The book is a collection of writings that Pearson has built up over the years which gives the reader an exclusive look into his life. He describes in great detail every single aspect of his history, from growing up to the death of his Father, the bands he has played in to the fights he has fought in.
As a huge fan of Justin Pearson’s bands (The Locust, Some Girls, Swing Kids, Head Wound City, Holy Molar and many more) it was great to finally have the chance to read about the other influential factors in his life as well as being allowed to gain a better understanding behind the music he makes. I have a huge amount of respect for him after reading this book due to the pure honesty with which he writes. Anyone who enjoys the bands Pearson is involved with will love this book, and even if you have never heard of him you will still come away wanting to find out and hear more from this one of a kind musician.
